چکیده
Traditionally, methanol is produced in large amounts from synthesis gas with heterogeneous Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalysts under steady state conditions. In this paper, the potential of alternative forced periodic operation modes studied using numerical optimization. The focus a well-mixed isothermal reactor two inputs, namely, CO concentration feed and total flow rate. Exploiting detailed kinetic model which also describes dynamics catalyst, sequential NLP optimization approach applied to compare optimal solutions regimes. Periodic are calculated dynamic periodicity constraint. embedded multi-objective framework optimize process respect objective functions generate corresponding Pareto fronts. first outlet second yield based on carbon feed. Additional constraints arising complex reaction practical limitations introduced step by step. results show that significant improvements for both possible through forcing inputs considered here.

Dynamic Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell System Synthesis/Design and Operation/Control Optimization under Uncertainty
Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are one of the leading candidates in alternative energy conversion devices for transportation, stationary, and portable power generation applications. PEMFC systems with their own fuel conversion unit typically consist of several subsystems: a fuel processing subsystem, a fuel cell stack subsystem, a work recovery-air supply subsystem, and a power el...
متن کاملPeriodic solutions of forced Kirchhoff equations
We consider Kirchhoff equations for vibrating strings and elastic membranes under the action of an external forcing of period 2π/ω and small amplitude ε. We prove existence, regularity and local uniqueness of 2π/ω-periodic solutions of order ε by means of a Nash-Moser iteration scheme; the results hold for parameters (ω, ε) in a Cantor-like set which has asymptotically full measure for ε→ 0.
متن کاملForced Periodic and Quasi-Periodic Patterns in Anisotropic Systems
We investigate pattern formation in two-dimensional anisotropic systems under an external spatially periodic modulation force. Electrohydrodynamic convection or RayleighB6nard convection of nematic liquid crystals are typical examples of anisotropic pattern forming systems. We are especially interested in the situation where the wave vector of the convection rolls and the wave vector of the ext...
متن کاملForced oscillations of a damped Korteweg-de Vries equation on a periodic domain
In this paper, we investigate a damped Korteweg-de Vries equation with forcing on a periodic domain $mathbb{T}=mathbb{R}/(2pimathbb{Z})$. We can obtain that if the forcing is periodic with small amplitude, then the solution becomes eventually time-periodic.
متن کاملHydrogen production by catalytic cracking of methane over nickel gauze under periodic reactor operation
The catalytic cracking of methane over nickel gauze is proposed as an attractive alternative for the production of CO-free hydrogen. The catalyst deactivates due to intensive coke deposition. Therefore, the reactor was operated periodically with the reaction followed by the catalyst regeneration by burning of coke in oxidative atmosphere. The optimal reaction performance was found to consist of...
